High Steel Service Center Receives National Safety Award

<p><span>Lancaster, Pa. (April 2, 2010)—Fabricators &amp; Manufacturers Association International has awarded their 2009 Safety Award of Merit to High Steel Service Center LLC, based in Lancaster, Pa. This award is presented to companies posting an injury and illness incidence rate that is better than the published Bureau of Labor and Statistics’ rate by 10 percent or more.<br /><br /></span><span>High</span><span>&nbsp;</span><span>Steel Service Center</span><span>&nbsp;</span><span>was one of 12 companies nationwide to receive this award.<span>&nbsp;</span>&nbsp;Eligibility was based on OSHA Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses statistics from 2008.<span>&nbsp;</span>&nbsp;The Summary is a report of any work-related illnesses or injuries, lost or restricted time, and hearing loss cases.<br /><br /></span><span>High</span><span>&nbsp;</span><span>Steel Service Center</span><span>&nbsp;</span><span>attributes its outstanding safety record to detailed root cause accident investigation, daily safety talks, and to their Safety Alert, Safety Advocate and safety training programs.<span>&nbsp;</span>&nbsp;In addition, they provide shop co-workers with on-line access to safety policies and job safety analysis and job hazard analysis (JSA/JHA) information.&nbsp;<br /></span></p>
